Today I will be showing you this song called "Matariki Macerena" It's all about the Matariki's daughters. This song is like Macerena but the girl is singing the sisters names. This week in room 9 we have been finding out infomation about Matariki. Matariki is a mother of six stars. The names are: Tupu-a-nuku, Waipunarangi, Waiti, Waita and Ururangi. Today I will be telling you about Room 10's bird. In Hornby Primary School each class has been given maori bird names. I find it very intersting that each class in Hornby Primary School has a New Zealand bird name. On Monday afternoon everyone in room 9 has been learning about maori bird names. We had to chosse a classroom in Hornby Primary. I chose room 10 because 10 is my favourite number! Room 10's bird is named Kakariki. I have made this slideshow about it.
